Job Description:
We're looking for an experienced Sales Engineer with the ability to learn technical products and translate their value to technical people. You need to be ready to perform at a high level and to work to represent our company to industry respected manufacturers and companies, to promote our technologies and to provide technical product, service, and support.
You will be asked to establish new accounts and service existing ones. As a member of the FOGALE biotech Inc. national team, you will operate as the key Sales team member on the West Coast. You will be expected to identify opportunities and will be responsible for assisting in the identification of potential new applications of FOGALE biotech technologies within existing accounts, and to support further development of our accounts beyond the initial sales opportunity. Youwill be involved in the pre-sales efforts both preparing and delivering technical presentations, preparing RFP/RFI responses, proposal development assistance, competitive analysis, and special internal projects.
You will also be expected to author or review whitepapers and technical notes, when required, that are appropriate for viewing by both prospects and existing customers.
Further, the Sales Engineer will be responsible for gathering technical and business requirements that are required to prepare feature requests.
The Sales Engineer will support all sales in the Western US, primarily the Bay Area, LA, and San Diego. You will work with a group of US distributors for which you will be the primary sales support contact. It is expected that this position will be required to travel 50% of the time. Some international travel will be required and the successful candidate must be eligible for international travel (have passport and no travel restrictions).
Desired Skills & Experience:
A BS in fermentation or engineering with at least 5+ years, or MS in engineering with at least 3+ years experience with fermentation/ mammalian cell culture is required.
Our ideal candidate has experience selling to the Pharmaceutical or Biotech industry on the West Coast and nationally, and has extensive experience in the scale up and operation of fermentation and mammalian cell culture processes.
A successful candidate will need an in-depth understanding of bioreactor operations and principles of biochemical engineering, fermentation, mammalian cell culture metabolism/physiology and process data analysis, and previous experience in a cGMP environment is a plus. Hands-on experience with bioreactors and process development experience are highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and sales projects is a must. Leadership of and participation in cross-functional initiatives will be important.
