FOGALE biotech is introducing a new range of sensors and control for Breweries with the accuracy and reliability to improve pitching and cropping operations.
Control of yeast pitchingThe viable yeast concentration in the pitching pipe is measured on-line by the Fogale probe. This allow a perfect control of the right amount of yeast to be delivered to the fermentation tank. The pitching pump can be swithched off automatically when the predefined quantity is reached. When the Fogale probe signal is combined with the wort flow, an accurate pitching rate is controlled at all time. Control of yeast recoveryAfter the fermentation is completed, the yeast passing the probe is measured and the concentration signal is used to determine when the yeast concentration is sufficiently high for the flow to be diverted to yeast storage tank. When the yeast concentration is low, the non yeast matter and low concentration yeast is directed to the waste tank. Finally, when the system detects a very low yeast concentration, the flow can be diverted to beer processing. Fogale also offers a low cost solution for basic interface detection for controlling yeast recovery. Our proprietary optical sensor can be mounted on the Fogale capacitance transmitter for detecting the interface between beer and yeast recovery. This sensor provides a simple, robust and financial attractive measurement. Yeast Propagation controlThe viable yeast concentration is measured on-line in the propagation process tank. The Fogale signal benefits is to control the wort feed rate and therefore optimize the yeast growth, it also provides a real time measurement for the yeast transfer to the fermentation process. Fermentation monitoringThe viable yeast concentration is measured on-line during the complete fermentation process, allowing:
Fogale also offers a low cost solution for detecting the yeast flocculation. Our proprietary optical sensor can also be mounted on the Fogale capacitance transmitter for yeast flocculation monitoring. This probe provides a simple, robust and low cost solution real time decision making instead of waiting for lab analysis. Yeast dosageOur range of sensor can be used to control in real-time the yeast dosage in certain specific finished beer. Capacitance technology only detects viable yeast cell concentration, while the low cost optical technology will detect the overall turbidity of the yeast beer. |
